About Us

The Idaho AFL-CIO represents thousands of union members across the state and serves as the united voice of Idaho’s labor movement. Our affiliates include workers from the building trades, public service, education, health care, manufacturing, transportation, and more. Together, we work to raise workplace standards, and ensure every Idaho family has access to fair wages, safe jobs, and economic opportunity.
We believe real progress happens when working people are heard. That is why civic engagement and election participation are essential parts of our mission. The Idaho AFL-CIO provides non-partisan voter education, information on issues affecting working families, and opportunities for members to engage with candidates and elected officials. Our focus is on policies—not parties. We help workers understand how decisions at the state level impact jobs, safety, wages, apprenticeships, and community well-being.
Through legislative advocacy, grassroots mobilization, and public education campaigns, we uplift pro-worker policies and defend against efforts that undermine workplace rights. We also collaborate with schools, apprenticeships, nonprofits, and community groups to build strong pathways into union careers and expand opportunities for the next generation.
Beyond politics and policy, the Idaho AFL-CIO is deeply rooted in service. Our members lead community projects, volunteer locally, support families in need, and respond to emergencies and crises across Idaho.
Together with our affiliates, community partners, and engaged members, the Idaho AFL-CIO is helping build a more just, worker-centered, and prosperous Idaho—one where working people have both a strong voice at work and a strong voice at the ballot box.
